Breakout Bob Slot Review, Demo Play, Payout, Free Spins & Bonuses

Breakout Bob is a somewhat volatile cartoon-style prison game from Playtech Vikings, and it plays out on 4 reels, 4 rows and 6 paylines. The animated and brutish-looking inmate, Bob, is full of antics, and you can look forward to progressive multiplier spins, a bonus round with wild collect & release and a jackpot wheel that pays up to 10,000x your stake.

Breakout Bob Review

The reels are set in a walled prison yard, and the animated Bob is very involved in the gameplay here. He will comment on every win, which gets a bit annoying after a while, but all is forgiven when he tosses that multiplier bomb onto the reels for potentially massive wins. You can place bets between 5p and £500 per spin here, which is an impressive bet range that should suit most types of players.

Both the Jackpot Wheel feature and the Multiplier Bomb Spins trigger quite often in this game, which gives you a nice and exciting break from the base game grind. However, landing even a smaller jackpot win is not all that easy in this game. The bonus round builds up to a sweet climax with the collected wild release in the end, and overall Breakout Bob offers well-balanced and entertaining gameplay.

Breakout Bob Features

Once in a while you’ll hear a plane fly above the prison yard, and it drops a 2x bomb into convict Bob’s hands. You will then get 4 to 6 free spins, where the bomb multiplier increases per non-winning spin. The multiplier values go from 2x to 3x, 5x, 10x, 15x and 25x at the most. If you don’t win within the 4 to 6 spins limit, Bob will toss the bomb away. If you do win, he will toss the bomb onto the reels and boost your winnings by the corresponding multiplier.

There is also a regularly triggered bonus round here, and you get 12 or 18 free spins when you land 3 or 4 scatters, respectively. Once again, inmate Bob gets his hand on a bomb, but this time it’s a scatter collecting tally. You will collect every new scatter you land during the bonus round, and all of these will be released as randomly placed high-value wilds on the final spin. You will also get 4 to 6 extra spins when you land 3 or 4 scatters on the same spin.

Finally, you have a randomly triggered Fortune Wheel Jackpot feature.

You will then see Bob spin a bonus wheel, and you can win fixed jackpots of either 50x, 500x or 10,000x your stake. You can also win nothing at all, which is the most likely outcome in our experience.

The 200 Spins Breakout Bob Experience

Being called “son” by a neanderthal-looking convict is a bit rich, but that’s what you get when the multiplier bomb explodes on the reels. You can see most of inmate Bob’s prison yard antics in our 200 spins highlights video, and all the boring parts have conveniently been edited out. We trigger the bonus round at 1:20 into the video, but there are certainly things to see before that also.

Review Summary

Breakout Bob does not deliver on the actual prison break, but it’s still a pretty entertaining title from Playtech Vikings. The comments and antics of the brutish looking inmate might get a bit annoying after a while, but the features carry this game well. You will trigger the multiplier bomb free spins feature on a regular basis here, and getting into the jackpot bonus game is also not that hard.

The problem is that neither for the features lead to anything significant most of the time, but this is to be expected from a volatile title like this. You can win up to 10,000x your stake from the highest jackpot, which is very solid, but the base game potential is only 720x your stake. The high paying wilds make sure the bonus round has a higher potential, but it doesn’t come close to the grand jackpot.

Pros

  • Random progressive multiplier free spins feature
  • Bonus round with final spin wild release
  • 3 fixed jackpots up to 10,000x your stake

Cons

  • Bob’s repeated antics becomes a bit annoying
