The Armenian studio, Peter & Sons, have plenty of war/warrior-themed releases under their belt already, but Hammer of Gods is their very first effort in the inevitable Vikings genre. The usual quirkiness of their visual style makes this release stand out from the crowd, and it also comes with a somewhat innovative Way Multiplier feature (although it works similar to NoLimit City’s xWays mechanic in practice).

Somehow a viking longship has been stranded high up in the mountains of Durmir, and it’s filled to the brim with gold and crazy viking characters. The hammer wild comes in two different colors, and the blue hammer steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combos. The golden hammer wild is collected in a shield/meter on the left-hand side whenever it lands. Fill all 3 slots in the shield, and you get a respin where all 3 wilds are added to random positions on the grid. This resets the meter.

The Way Multiplier feature is in play both in the base game and during the bonus round, and it’s somewhat similar to NoLimit City’s xWays mechanic.

You’ll see small icons appear on certain symbols, and these display a multiplier value between x2 to x4. The Way Multiplier boosts the number of symbol instances on the relevant positions, and it can affect any symbol except scatters.

Speaking of, the golden star shield scatter is worth 2, 10, 100 or 500 times your stake for 3, 4, 5 or 6 anywhere on the same spin. Any number of scatters above 3 also award 15 free spins, and the Way Multiplier icons will always land as x4 symbol splitters during the feature. You are also guaranteed 1 wild per free spin, but not necessarily the special collected wild.

Should you have any wilds loaded up in the Shield/Meter as your granted number of free spins run out, a special feature kicks in. You will basically get indefinite free spins until you’ve managed to fill the meter, and gotten a final wild release respin trigger.

The latter is far from a guarantee of even decent top-ups though, but your chances for bigger wins increases in the bonus round.
