You can decide to play with the Boost feature turned on or off, and it effectively doubles your stake when switched on. The benefit is that all book wilds are transformed from the regular 1x1 size, to 1x3 expanded wilds that always cover the whole reel when they land. We decided to play without the Boost feature, and nothing very exciting happened for us during base game play. This changed dramatically when we bought the bonus round though, and this happens around 0:48 into the 4-minute highlights video. The brick and mortar look, combined with a nicely done medieval theme, makes Book of King Arthur stand out in the overcrowded ‘Book slot’ genre. The Boost feature turning wilds into fully expanded wilds is also an innovative element added to the mix. Whether or not it affects theoretical returns is not disclosed however, and paying twice for each spin gets expensive pretty fast.

Underneath it all, this is nothing but a fairly ordinary ‘Book of’ clone though, with the standard 5,000x max win and a decent enough overall math model. The visual presentation makes it refreshing though, but we don’t see this one climbing to the top and threatening the king.

It’s all about filling the screen with the special expanding symbol, and without the Boost feature switched on you need a solid premium symbol as the chosen one to win big.
