According to a recent press release, Deputy CEO, Daniel Eskola, revealed that Relax Gaming didn’t originally have any ambition of releasing a legacy type jackpot game. However, as with anything else in this business, things can change on a dime. The Dream Drop™ Jackpot concept will be implemented in many future releases, and Temple Tumble 2 is the debut. This is, as indicated by CPO, Simon Hammon, in the same press release, a major milestone in Relax Gaming’s history.

The husband and wife explorers (whose names we still don’t know) are back with a bang after the wife rescued her beloved in Cluster Tumble, and you’re sucked into the action by the impressive cinematographic intro. The Mega Jackpot levels up for every second drop, up to a €10M cap, and it seeds at €500K. The 6x6 grid looks massive with the 2 adventurers silhouetted against it at the bottom, and clearing the grid leads to a 3 bonus round modifier options for payouts up to 10,045x your stake.

The premium symbols pay 0.3 to 1 x your stake, and you also have one wild for each explorer that steps in for pay symbols to help create wins. All winning symbols are removed from the grid in an explosive way, making room for new and/or existing symbols to drop down to fill the gaps.

This tumbling process goes on indefinitely as long as you keep winning.

Each spin drops down 3 to 24 blocker tiles with no value, and all blocker tiles that are adjacent to winning symbols are removed. The Dream Drop Jackpot Entry Spin can come about at any time in the base game.

This triggers a spin where you need one golden ‘DD’ (dream drop) symbol on each reel. You will then follow the 2 explorers into the behind-the-grid portal that opens up, where you’ll discover 5 reels of different heights. Each reel represents a Jackpot, and stone tiles or DD symbols will land per spin. Stone tiles explode, while the DD symbols drop to the lowest possible position. The first reel that’s filled with DD symbols lands you the corresponding jackpot:

• The Mega Jackpot seeds at €500,000 (max value is €10 million).
• The Major Jackpot seeds at €25,000 (max value is €50,000).
• The Maxi Jackpot seeds at €100.

All 5 jackpots are progressive, and they keep growing until won. The Major Jackpot must drop before it hits €50,000 however, while the Mega Jackpot has the ability to get all the way to €10 million. The Mega Jackpot upper limit increases by €500,000 every second time it drops, until it reaches the €10,000,000 limit. This will then be its upper level indefinitely.

Increasing your bet size also increases your jackpot trigger chances, although no stats are given for this.

Review Summary

The cheesy over-the-top love story from Cluster Tumble has been replaced by a more action-packed and masculine frame in Temple Tumble 2. We like how the car from the intro literally jumps into the actual game, albeit in the form of a very small silhouette against the grid. The actual gameplay is somewhat different, as you don’t get the super-lengthy cascading sequences anymore. However, you do get to see the silhouette of the 2 explorers doing moonwalks and other antics.

The base game is pretty barebones, with low symbol value top-up wins at best.

Of course, the main focus is the brand new Dream Drop Jackpot feature, and a full 12 % of the RTP goes to feed the jackpots (leaving you with only 82.8 % for the regular game). The level-up concept is a bit gimmicky perhaps, but the €10m top prize is nonetheless a very respectable figure. You get some decent modifier action in the bonus round, and multipliers are probably your best chance at cracking the 10,045x potential.
