Red Tiger has mixed things up in a major way lately, and you never quite know what to expect from each new release these days. We don’t mind this unpredictability at all actually, and Sheep Gone Wild does not look like what we learned to expect from this developer. This cartoonish farm installment seems inspired by what Pragmatic Play does, but we have no complaints about the audiovisual presentation as such.

The wooly creatures look innocent enough, but they do put up a decent fight when snatched by the wolf. This happens on a regular basis in the base game, and it enhances your current spin with up to 3 modifier picks. This includes symbol transformation and multipliers, and you get at least 3 picks for starters when the bonus round triggers. More can be won during the feature as well, and the 13,400x potential is surprisingly solid.

The premium symbols pay between 2.4 and 8 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the sheep Wild can land on all 5 reels to step in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins. Wilds pay the same as the top-tier farmer symbol should you land 5 wilds on a payline, but keep in mind that wilds pay only for 5-oak wins.

Wilds can appear in all stages of the game.

The Sheep Snatch feature triggers at random times, and you will then see a Sheep appear in front of the reels. You will click the sheep to reveal a random modifier, as the wolf attacks and snatches the sheep. The sheep awards 1 of 2 modifiers as follows:

• Symbol Transformation - a low value symbol type is chosen, and all instances of this symbol turn into wild symbols.
• Win Multiplier - a global win multiplier of x2 or x3 will boost any win on the current spin.

You can get up to 3 Sheep Snatch modifiers on the same spin, and if you get more than one win multiplier they are added together up to x8, at best. The win multiplier resets for the spin that follows.

You need 3+ Wolf Spins scatter symbols in view to trigger the Wolf Spins Bonus Round, and this gives you 7 free spins. You get to pick from 15 sheep before the bonus round starts, and this is how you can upgrade your free spins round with modifiers.

The number of picks you get is determined by the number of triggering scatters, and 3 scatters awards 3 picks.

Review Summary

Sheep Gone Wild is perhaps not the most imaginary slot title we have seen, given that there are plenty of similar titles out there utilizing wilds. However, the sheep snatching theme makes this farm slot stand out a bit, and it’s all done with a healthy dose of humor to boot. The presentation looks more like something Pragmatic Play would come up with than Red Tiger, but then again, Red Tiger has gone through a massive transformation lately.

We like that you can get up to 3 modifier picks also on a single base game spin, and this can lead to solid payouts on occasions. Most of the time you’re spinning along catching top up wins though, but it’s always exciting to pick modifiers when the bonus round triggers. The more the merrier in that regard, and we are once again surprised by the solid 13,400x potential.

It will take us a while to get the “old” Red Tiger out of the system, but we do like that they have become more unpredictable and experimental lately.
