The predecessor release, Top Dawg$, has now gotten a feline counterpart, as Fly Cats is a very similar game in most regards. It’s not as potent and exciting as the original though, unless you find the jackpot chase to be thrilling. There is a non-Dream Drop version of this game as well, just to be clear, and you get to meet the coolest cats in town. The visuals are decent, but not really up there with what we are used to from Relax Gaming.

Once again, you get a Mystery Respins feature, and it can lead to decent to solid payouts depending on how many symbols you rack up, and what symbol is revealed in the end. The bonus round comes with sticky wilds this time too, but with a lower wild multiplier upgrade limit. The only reason to prefer Fly Cats over Top Dawg$ is the Dream Drop jackpots, unless you simply cannot stand dogs for whatever reason. This comes across as a bleak copycat (no pun intended), but hey, you can win life-changing payouts from the DD pick game.

The premium cat character symbols pay between 6 and 15 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, while all royal symbols pay 1x your stake for the same.

The Wild symbol comes in the form of a ‘W’, and it steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins. Wilds also pay up to 15x your stake should you land 5 wilds on the same payline.

Each time a Question Mark symbol appears you trigger the Mystery Respins feature, and this is a hold and win kind of bonus. You get a new respin as long as you keep landing new mystery symbols, and all mystery symbols that appear become sticky on an otherwise cleared grid. The feature ends when you land a respin with only blanks, and then the accumulated mystery symbols reveal a randomly selected matching symbol that gives you a win.

Review Summary

We have to say that we much prefer Top Dawg$ to this follow-up release from Relax Gaming. In fact, Fly Cats is one of the most unengaging and tedious slots we’ve ever played from this developer, who usually delivers the goods in spades.

The cat noise is more annoying than charming, and the hip hop visuals aren’t that impressive either. The cats look cool enough though, but there is a hasty and generic vibe hanging over this production.

You get a similar Mystery Respins feature, but with lower symbol values and thereby top prizes. The bonus round was far less engaging than what you get in Top Dawg$, and you can count yourself lucky if you get as little as a couple of multiplier wilds that may or may not do anything. Take the Dream Drop jackpot out of the equation, and there is very little to be excited about in Fly Cats, and the max win has been significantly reduced to 5,000x as well. There are far better Dream Drop alternatives out there, and we suggest you check them out instead.
