A game of Craps plays out in 2 distinct phases, namely the ‘come out’ phase and the ‘point’ phase.

The ‘point’ number is determined by the outcome (when you neither win nor lose on the first dice roll), and you now get a new betting round with indefinite dice rolls until you either win or lose (push is also a possibility with some bets). There are plenty of bets you can place in both phases of the game, and below is an overview starting with the most popular bet in craps:

• Pass Line Bet (multi-roll, 1:1 payout odds) - bet on 7 or 11, lose on 2, 3, or 12. Win if the point number or 7 is rolled in the ‘point’ phase.
• Don't Pass Line Bet (multi-roll, 1:1 payout odds) - win on 2 or 3, lose on 7 or 11, push on 12, and win if 7 is rolled before the point number.
• Come Bet (multi-roll, 1:1 payout odds) - bet on 7 or 11, lose on 2, 3, or 12. Win if the point number or 7 is rolled in the ‘point’ phase.
• Don't Come Bet (multi-roll, 1:1 payout odds) - win on 2 or 3, lose on 7 or 11, push on 12, and win if 7 is rolled before the point number.
• Field Bet (single roll, 2:1 payout odds for 2 and 12, 1:1 for all other numbers) - win on 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, double on 2, triple on 12, and lose on 5, 6, 7, 8.
• Free Odds/Laying the Odds Bet (multi-roll, payout odds of 1:2 on 4 or 10, 2:3 on 5 or 9, 5:6 on 6 or 8) - bet on 7 rolled before point number.
• Place Bet (multi-roll, payout odds of 9:5 for 4 or 10, 7:5 for 7 or 9, 7:6 for 6 or 8) - bet on a number being rolled before 7.

Review Summary

We like that you can change between vintage, classic, and modern modes, although we couldn’t find a way to do this without restarting the game. Either way, having options is always nice, and the dealer commentary makes the experience more immersive as well. Not as immersive and engaging as live casino craps, perhaps, which is only topped by the “real thing” in a brick and mortar casino. However, Play’n Go’s Craps Game is still a solid RNG (random number generator) engine alternative.

All the different bets can certainly be confusing and even off-putting to new players, but you get a decent summary of each bet when you place your marker over it on the table. Just keep in mind that the Pass Line Bet is the most popular bet, and take it from there. Also, stick with even money bets to play it safe until you get the hang of it.
