The Amazing Link series has been going strong for a while, and SpinPlay Games has recently started a similar series with Wild Link Cleopatra. The patriarchal Wild Link Zeus follows in the footsteps of the matriarchal predecessor, with some minor tweaks in the feature and math model departments. Visually, the style is similar, and it’s not something that sticks out too much from the crowd.

The Amazing Link feature takes center stage, which is no surprise given the game’s title, and it’s all about collecting cash prizes and/or jackpot prizes. This can happen on an expanded grid, and the total win can also be boosted by up to x3. In addition, you get a random jackpot pick game, as well as a bonus round where one random reel is turned into a wild/prize reel per spin.

The premium symbols pay between 3 and 5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Zeus Wild symbol pays 10x your stake for the same. The wild symbol comes in sizes 1x1, 1x2 and 1x3, and it can appear on all 5 reels to substitute for pay symbols.

Landing a wild symbol on reel 1 triggers the Wild Link feature, and you will then see the wild nudge in place or expand to cover the full reel. Reels 2 to 5 will then expand by 2 or 3 rows (or up to 6 rows in the bonus round), and prize symbols on adjacent reels will pay their respective prize values.

Wilds substitute for prize symbols during the feature, and the total win can be randomly boosted by an x2 or x3 multiplier.

All prize symbols that land are collected by Zeus on the left-hand side, and this may trigger the Prize Pick Bonus Game at random times after a base game spin or the Wild Link feature. You will then make your picks until you match up 3 icons that correspond to 1 of the 4 jackpot prizes. These are the Mini, Minor, Major and Mega prizes, and they pay 20x, 50x, 500x and 5,000x your stake, respectively.

The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3 temple bonus scatters anywhere in view, and this awards 10 free spins. A random reel turns into a Wild Prize reel per spin, but never reel 1. Review Summary

The similarities to both Amazing Link Zeus and Wild Link Cleopatra are obvious, but Wild Link Zeus is not exactly a copycat release either. You get the Wild Link feature instead of the Amazing Link hold-and-win feature, and we prefer the latter actually. It can expand the grid and provide multiplier-boosted wins, and this can actually lead to pretty solid base game payouts.

Up to 5,000x your stake is possible in all stages, and the top-tier RTP of 96.45 % is a bit higher than in the sibling Zeus release. The medium volatility is a tad more forgiving as well, so overall we would prefer this game if we had to choose only one. The random jackpot pick feature rewards loyal punters with a chance to crack the max win, but these kinds of games are still a dime a dozen these days.
