This is not really the most dystopian post-apocalyptic slot we’ve seen, as Red Tiger’s Mayhem comes with a highly energetic soundtrack that goes well together with the comic book style Mad Max-inspired visuals. Everything revolves around one very lively and anarchistic steampunkish character, as well as the core feature she triggers. You will know what we mean the first time the Cash Queen slams down on the middle reel with her golden AK-47 blasting.

The gameplay is very simple, yet pretty entertaining for the reasons stated above, as the base game is broken up on a regular basis by the Cash Queen Respins feature. It can only lead to okay top-up wins at best though, due to the low symbol values combined with only 20 paylines. You get the Cash Queen Respins feature on every win in the Anarchy Spins bonus round though, with an increasing multiplier to boot. However, the overall max win is capped at a very mediocre 1,200x your stake.

The 4 premium symbols pay between 0.4 and 7.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Cash Queen Wild symbol steps in for all pay symbols to help complete wins. The Cash Queen Wild dumps down on the middle reel 3 only, and she always lands fully in view as a 1x3 stacked wild.

When she is part of a win, the 1x3-sized wild becomes sticky, together with all the winning symbols.

The remaining positions then respin, and any new winning symbols that land will also become sticky for yet another respin. The respins feature only ends when you either fill the grid, or land no new winning symbols.

Review Summary

There is a rough redneck charm hanging over this post-apocalyptic production, and we really enjoyed the way the Cash Queen crashes down on the grid with her in-your-face punk attitude and her golden AK-47. The high-octane soundtrack is also highly enjoyable, and it fits the Mad Max-inspired theme like a spiked glove. The core sticky wild respins feature may not be new or innovative, but it comes with more than enough personality to be entertaining.

Adding a few more characters could perhaps have been an idea, as the Cash Queen seems a bit lonely there on the middle reel. The biggest drawback however, which is many times the case with Red Tiger, is the math model. The volatility is on the higher end of medium, but you can only win up to 1,200x your stake. This would have been a decent base game potential perhaps, but the wild multiplier-building bonus round deserves a lot better.
