Lucksome has flirted with the mysterious side of life in several releases already, but Gates of Etherea comes with their most unique and well-made theme to date. We were taken by surprise as the visual wonder of this slot unfolded in front of our eyes, as we feared another somewhat generic ancient Egypt-like release. We really enjoyed the audiovisual presentation Lucksome has conjured up in Gates of Etherea, and they’ve clearly poured their heart and soul into producing a game that sticks out from the run-of-the-mill ancient civilization releases we see all the time. The result is a dreamy mix of different cultural influences, with a dash of Stargate to top it off. It’s a game that will seduce you with its mystic aura from the get-go, and we will probably be back for more.

While we have seen most of the features before in one way, shape or form, Lucksome has managed to give the impression that you’re testing something brand new. The features are interwoven with the excellent animations, and it all flows smoothly accompanied by the ethereal soundtrack. The 5,000x potential seems solid enough, but keep in mind that the bonus round triggers only once in 500 spins on average.
