The game plays out on a 5x5 grid with 25 squares to pick from. You never know if you get a diamond or a mine when you pick any given square, and each diamond increases your win. You can choose to cash out after each successful pick, and you lose your whole win if a mine is revealed.

The game is highly customizable, and you can make adjustments between rounds.

You begin by choosing your bet size between £1 and £​​​​​​£300 per round, and then you choose the number of mines. The number of mines can be 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, or 15, and the diamond prizes increase more per pick the more mines you go with. The number of picks decreases the more mines you go with, and 15 mines gives you only 5 picks.

The max win is displayed below the number of picks, and it varies according to how many mines you go with. More mines don’t necessarily mean a higher max win though, and in fact, going with only 2 mines gives you the highest potential of 288x your stake. Going with only 1 mine gives you the lowest potential of only 23.5x your stake.

We have seen similar games from iSoftBet before, and once you’ve tried one minesweeper-inspired release you’ve tried them all.

Find the Diamonds. is as good as any in other words, and it boils down to which theme you prefer. Hot Shots: Mines came with a football theme just in time for the now long gone World Cup, while Gold Digger: Mines is based around their popular mining slot series.

We wouldn’t mind seeing some innovation being implemented to spice up this concept, as it gets old rather quickly. There are plenty of opportunities to make it more exciting in our view. Just look at Slingo, for example, which combines the best of slots and bingo. Something similar could easily be done with this pick ‘em concept, and it will probably not take off until someone dares to think out of the box.
