This season’s Xmas slot releases has long since started to pile up like wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree, and Red Tiger has decided to utilize the licensed BTG engine for their contribution. Jingle Ways Megaways is somewhat similar to last year’s Jingle Bells Power Reels, but we wouldn’t exactly call it a reskin or copycat effort. ‘Father Christmas’ looks the same though, and you get random Santa’s Gift modifiers in this installment also.

These gifts can even deliver the bonus round directly, and the multiplier modifier can only be awarded within the progressive multiplier free spins round. The multiplier cannot go higher than x15 though, which is a somewhat unusual limitation for a Megaways release. Still, you can win up to 10,500x your stake, which is decent enough, but you’ll probably need multiplier action as the overall symbol values are quite low.

The premium Xmas symbols pay between 1 and 2.5 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and all winning symbols are removed from the grid via the Cascading Wins mechanic. The gaps are then filled with new and/or existing symbols that tumble down from above, and the process repeats indefinitely as long as you keep winning.

Santa Claus will sometimes appear on the reels, and you’re then granted a gift to open. This Santa’s Gift feature awards 1 of the following 4 modifiers:

• Mega Wilds - awards up to 4 wilds that cover the entire reel (reels 2 to 5 only), and they come with a multiplier up to x7.
• Festive Reels - removes all low-value symbols from the grid, and gives you a guaranteed premium symbol win.
• Raining Wilds - add random wilds sprinkled across the 4 middle reels, and this also guarantees a win.
• Multiplier Boost - can only be triggered within the bonus round, and it increases the free spins win multiplier by +5.

The Bonus Round can also be triggered from the Santa’s Gift feature, or from landing 3+ snow globe scatters anywhere within the same cascading sequence.

Either way, you get 8 free spins with an x1 starting multiplier, but landing more than 3 scatters award +2 extra spins per extra triggering scatter.

The progressive win multiplier increases by +1 per cascading win, or via the Santa’s Gift feature as described above, but it’s capped at x15. You win +3 extra free spins when you land 3 scatters in the bonus round, and every scatter above the minimum of 3 awards an extra spin on top of that.

Review Summary

We know from before that Red Tiger likes to keep a tighter rein on their math model than many other developers, and it’s been a while since we’ve seen a release where the highest default RTP reaches the 95.69 % mark like it does in Jingle Ways Megaways. The 10,500x potential is also pretty solid, but their usual quirkiness has instead found another avenue of expression this time.

The progressive multiplier is capped at x15 in the bonus round, while most Megaways releases come with an “unlimited” progressive win multiplier. Overall, this is a decent enough Xmas release that can surprise you here and there with Santa’s Gift modifiers. Still, it doesn’t really stick out enough to make a lasting impression, and the features and visuals are more or less recycled from last year’s Jingle Bells Power Reels.
