Pinball is mostly a nostalgic memory these days, at least if you came of age in the 70s and 80s. Millennial hipsters might also be familiar with the concept, and the more famous machines have long since become expensive collector’s items. Of course, it’s Crazy Tooth Studio, who really live up to their name, that are behind this pinball/slot hybrid.

3 Devils Pinball is not as original as it might seem at first glance however, cause it’s really just a reskin of Queen Of The Crystal Rays with pinball elements added on top. We had hoped for more interactivity in this game, and it’s a bit disappointing that both of the pinball features run on autopilot. The best reason to try this game is to satisfy your curiosity, and while the idea is good, the execution is somewhat lacking.

You have a regular wild symbol that looks like a blue spiral, and also a 2x multiplier wild in this game. The wilds step in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combos, and the 2x multiplier wild can only land on reels 2, 3 and 4. If you land a win with more than 1 multiplier wild involved, each multiplier will boost the total win.

The Pinball feature can trigger on any given spin, and this expands the grid with 4 extra rows and 25 extra paylines.

You will thus play with 8 rows and 50 paylines, and you get a zoomed out view of the whole pinball layout as the feature starts.

The first ball is then fired from the right-hand side, and it will roll around the top area and end up burning across a payline from the other side. The balls leave wilds or 2x wilds in their wake, and when the last ball has been fired you get a new win calculation.

You trigger the 3 Devil’s Bonus Game when you land 3 scatter symbols anywhere on the same spin. You will now be taken to the upper level of the pinball machine, where 4 rounds will play out. You will see the 6x8 board being loaded up with cash prizes and bumpers, and balls move along random paths to collect all cash prizes they come into contact with.

You get 4 balls in round 1, 3 in round 2, 2 in round 3 and 1 ball in the final Power Path round. The path of each ball is selected randomly up front, and round 2, 3 and 4 comes with multiplier bumpers of 2x, 3x and 5x, respectively.

When the ball hits one or more multiplier bumpers in its path, it will boost your winnings for that round accordingly.

Nothing too exciting happened in the base game, before we suddenly triggered the Pinball feature out of the blue. We got 2 balls, and this gave us a double row of wilds which resulted in a “big win”. Review Summary

We have become used to the oddball releases Crazy Tooth Studio comes up with, and 3 Devils Pinball is no different in that regard. There is enough here to pique anyone’s curiosity for sure, but hardly enough to make players return for more. The game is also basically a reskin of Queen Of The Crystal Rays, albeit with a pinball “skin” that makes it stand out from most slots out there.

If you’re going to make a pinball slot, why not allow players to shoot the ball into play, and even control the flippers. Everything is automated here, which makes it less exciting. The math model will hardly impress experienced gamblers, and after you’ve seen the bonus features a few times you’ll most likely move on to something else.
