Top 6 Favorite Cake Blogs

Sweetapolita

Sweetapolita.com is first. Rosie’s beautiful cakes immediately attracted me, and her delicious flavours kept me coming. It was the first cake-related blog that I followed religiously. When I tried her Campfire Delight Cake, I was amazed by the rich, dark chocolate layers she combined with toasted marshmallow frosting. It was a decadent, mouthwatering cake that will be remembered forever. Since my first bite, she’s become one of my favourite cake bloggers. Her Autumn Delight Cake and Triple Lemon Blueberry Cake are also delicious, and I highly recommend them. These cakes have been a huge hit every time I made them.

The Cake Blog

This site, The Cake Blog, is a group of cake designers and bakers who share their recipes, tutorials, and work. Carrie Sellman, the site’s founder, has 12 contributors, including Tessa Huff, who is one of my favourite cake designers. The Cake Blog has so many recipes by different bakers. You have to visit this site. It’s full of inspiration. One of my favourites on this site is the Peanut Butter and Jelly Cake by Tessa Huff.

Style Snack CA

StyleSweetCa.com, Tessa Huff’s cake blog, is a site that you should bookmark on your computer. Tessa was responsible for many of the recipes that I tried and loved from The Cake Blog. Her flavour combinations are amazing, and I appreciate how she clearly explains her instructions, assembly and design. It’s hard to go wrong with any of her creations. Along with her Peanut Butter Jelly Cake, I recommend her Vanilla Butter Cake.

Milk Bar

Milk Bar has always been a favourite of mine, and I continue to love it more with each Cake that I make. Christina Tossi, my idol, is no joke. I love the way she creates flavour and texture combinations that are memorable. The cookie crumbs are amazing! Genius. Pure genius! It makes me happy to see that she shares many of her recipes with the Milk Bar website. The Apple Pie Cake and Birthday Cake are my favourite Milk Bar Cakes (and now, they’re also my favourite dessert for Thanksgiving). MilkBarStore.com has all the recipes and tutorials.

Baking A Moment

Recently, I discovered Baking a Moment, a book by Allie, who is a former pastry cook. This site will become your favourite source for everything spots, from cupcakes and brownies to macarons, tarts, cakes, and cookies. She also wants to make cooking fun and easy. Her recipes are simple to follow and are sure to please. Allie’s Coconut Cream Cake recipe inspired my Coconut Cream Cake, and I loved her Chocolate Cake with Mexican Hot Chocolate Frosting.

Liv for Cake

Liv for Cake is the final blog in my top five. It has quickly become my favourite place to get cake and dessert ideas. Olivia, like me, is always searching for the best sweets to share and only shares the best. Her S’mores Macarons, with homemade marshmallow flour, and her Mocha Chocolate Cake are my favourites. Her Cinnamon Toast Crunch cake is next on my list.
