Fresh Fruit EASY Cake Filling Recipe

I never imagined that this recipe would be so popular when I first posted it four years ago! It was delicious! Fresh fruit in cakes, doughnuts and pastries makes a huge difference. This easy cake filling can be made in only 10 minutes. BAM! This fresh fruit filling will transform any dessert into something you’ve never had before.

What you need to fill fruit cakes

  1. Fresh fruit! Pick what you like or what is in season. If you’re using a fruit that has a skin, like peaches or nectarines, peel it first before chopping.
  2. Lemon
  3. Sugar
  4. Water
  5. Corn Starch

That’s it! You might also want to pick up some gadgets.

  • a potato masher
  • A fine strainer to remove seeds or clumps if desired
  • Do I need to mention that?

How to make FRESH FRUIT Cake Filling

Fruit should be washed and prepared. Berry fillings are my favourite. You can mix different fruits and berries. You can make a pineapple mango, strawberry peach or triple berry filling. You can fill any cake you want! Make sure to have 4 cups of fruit.

2. Bring all ingredients to a rolling boil. The fruit will begin to soften and eventually turn into mush. I use a potato mashing tool to crush the fruit well.

Allow the sauce to boil for two minutes until it reaches a thick, jam-like consistency.

If you want your fruit filling to be free of seeds and clumps, then use a fine strainer.

The result will be a delicious, silky, and fresh fruit filling.

FAQ AROUND THIS EASY CAKE-FILLING

1. How much coffee will this make? A. This recipe is reduced to approximately 3 cups of fruit filling. This is enough to fill a three-layered cake.

2. Can I use jam instead? This filling for fresh fruit cakes isn’t as sweet as the jam, so it pairs well with sweet desserts like cake and pastries. This filling helps to keep desserts from being too sweet, so you lose the taste of other flavours. Jams are full of preservatives, which is unnecessary for desserts and cakes that will be consumed within a few hours or days.

3. Can I use frozen fruits? YES! While I enjoy the taste of fresh fruits, it’s not always possible to have them all year. You can also freeze your fruit and vegetables to get the same taste.
