The only relationship this reviewer has to Ronnie James Dio is a few listening sessions to his smash hit song, Holy Diver. We are not huge fans in other words, so our review will not be biased in that regard. The band was started by two ex-members of Black Sabbath, namely Dio himself and Vinny Appice, and it was formed in the US in 1982. The fantasy horror visuals have been captured nicely in this branded effort, and you get to hear songs like ‘Don’t Talk To Strangers’ and other hits. Sticky wilds abound in all stages via different features, and the bonus round also comes with 3 modifiers.

The premium symbols consist of Dio as the top payer, as well as 3 monsters, and they pay between 0.5 and 1 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. The double-edged sword when creating these rock slots is the fact that they will many times not appeal to non-fans.

It doesn’t matter how well-made they are, or how entertaining the gameplay is, you do need to have a thing for Ronnie James Dio and his music to enjoy Dio Killing The Dragon. If the fans don’t even like it, well, then the game is basically a complete disaster.

We don’t think this is the case for this release though, and it should appeal to whatever fanbase this heavy metal artist has in the online slot community anno 2022. That might not be too many though, but what do we know. Anyway, the bonus round is your best shot at cracking the solid 15,000x potential, since low symbol values require wild multipliers to make a dent. The win cap probability is 1 in 10 million though, and there are better rock slot alternatives from Play’n Go.
