There are not all that many reggae-themed slots out there, and it’s therefore a bit sad that Eyecon didn’t make more of an effort to breathe some ‘soul’ into Reggae Rhythm slot. The beach looks completely deserted, with an empty bar shelter in the background, and the lone “groove on the move” hippie-wagon in the foreground. A cheerful crowd would certainly have lived things up a bit, or at least some people sharing a blunt on the beach.

The reggae beat is obviously meant to be pleasantly chilled, but like the visual presentation, it comes across as a bit too synthetic, mechanical and pretentious. The pick me feature and the bonus round is hardly innovative stuff, and this whole game comes across as something the b-team whipped together in a haste to meet some artificial deadline.

The rastafari lion, Leo, is the wild symbol in this game, and he steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combinations. Not only that, but any win that includes a wild is also subject to a 2x multiplier. The wild does not hold any value of its own, but it serves double duty as a scatter symbol as well.

You trigger the Prize Pick Bonus whenever you land at least 3 record scatters anywhere in sight. You get the same number of picks as the number of scatters you landed, and each pick can award a prize up to 100x your stake.

All prizes you get are added together when you run out of picks. This feature can also trigger within the Free Games round.

Speaking of, the Bonus Round is triggered when you land at least 3 scatter/wild symbols anywhere in sight. All line wins are subject to a 3x multiplier during the feature, and you can retrigger the bonus round up to 15 times at the most.

Review Summary

Eyecon has a pretty varied production under their belt, and Reggae Rhythm was not a very memorable experience in our view. The pace of the game doesn’t quite mesh with the reggae beat, and it breaks up what could have been a pleasant beach vibe. The soundtrack itself isn’t all that impressive either, and the rastafari lion is craving too much attention when showing off his guitar skills during the bonus round.

You can win up to 5,000x your stake on a single regular spin though, and the 2x multiplier wild, or 3x multiplier bonus round, can take you up to respectable numbers. The 95.38 % RTP is less impressive however, and the pick me game usually awards mediocre payouts designed to keep you afloat more than anything else. Overall, we got a “plastic fantastic” feel from this game, and it’s a far cry from emanating the authentic Rastafarian spirit.
